Sponsorship Opportunities

Scheduled for the first weekend in October, the 2020 Cycle Sequatchie Century & 3 Mountain Challenge builds on the success of last year's inaugural event with an expanded line-up of activities that shows off everything that makes Sequatchie Valley and the South Cumberland Plateau such a special place!

The main attraction is still Saturday's bike ride out of Dunlap, and this year we've expanded the route options to include 19 different choices! Like last year, we'll offer craft beer and a farm-to-table buffet after the ride with 100% locally-sourced ingredients, only this year we're making it all-you-can-eat! Also like last year, the post-ride party will feature an outdoor expo, which we are looking to expand to include the local farmers market in addition to local outdoor recreation clubs, retailers, non-profit organizations and area parks.

To encourage our participants to make a full weekend of it, this year we've added a Friday afternoon hill climb challenge at Jasper Highlands on the south end of Sequatchie Valley. More than just a competition to see who can reach the top of the two-mile, 1,000-foot climb the fastest, our friends at Tower Community Bank are throwing a party at the top for participants and spectators alike featuring beer & food from the Top of the Rock Restaurant & Brewery there at the finish line.

To round out the weekend, we'll also have a Sunday farm tour & lunch at Sequatchie Cove Farm. Like last year, this will serve as the perfect reward for the hard work put in on Saturday's ride.

Beyond the attention the event brings to Sequatchie Valley and the South Cumberland Plateau, proceeds from ride registrations support regional conservation efforts through the Land Trust for Tennessee. Our goals:

  • Bring attention to all of the fun options for outdoor recreation (cycling & so much more!) in Sequatchie Valley and the South Cumberland Plateau.
  • Provide exposure and opportunities to support regional conservation initiatives along with family farms & local businesses through the Outdoor Expo.

In its first year (2019), the event drew over 330 registrants from 15 states, plus friends & family and locals interested in the expo and buffet. With 96% of the respondents in our post-ride survey indicating they had a positive experience (with the majority of those characterizing it as "awesome!"), we expect to have our first-year crowd return for 2020 - and bring their friends! We anticipate word-of-mouth and increased marketing to bring in over 500 registrants this time around!

Because the post-ride lunch only uses fresh locally-sourced ingredients prepared by a professional chef, it is more expensive (and more rewarding!) than typical bike ride meals. Proceeds from this ride benefit rural conservation in the Sequatchie Valley region, and we are proud to further support family farms through the Farmers Feast.
